| Discover What Technology Can Do For Your Second

About the Session:
This session will explore ideas about classroom based integration of technology in SL programs, while
supporting the discovery of great ways to use technology to teach, learn and have fun in second language
classes at all grade levels.
Participants will be invited to share their current uses of technology in SL classes and will be presented with a
great number of ways to increase, expand and practice technology based strategies and tools to enhance their
SL classes and student learning.
The session will focus on basic uses of technology and is directed towards SL teachers whose experience with
technology may be at the beginning stages. The session will include: presentation and sharing of current uses
and ideas for technology on SL classes; program of studies directions towards uses of technology; specific
learning outcome based examples of technology integration; expansion and additional ideas of uses of
technology integration through exploration of web-based tools and strategies.
About the Facilitator:
Valeria Palladino is a second language teacher with over 12 years of experience in teaching Italian and
Spanish at all grade levels in Edmonton and abroad. Currently involved in technology-based resource
development for Alberta Education, she focuses her passion and creativity in integrating technology in
language curricula through teaching and learning strategies, with the goal to make language classes a fun,
current and engaging experience, for teachers and students.
